It was in the spring of 2004 when the Town of Bowden decided it was time for an online presence for their residents and visitors. It's a little funny to think that just those few short years ago, not every municipal government had a web presence. Bowden has made maintenance a priority and so the site is updated on a regular basis. Residents can read Council meeting agendas and minutes in a timely fashion, newsletters are posted promptly, videos have been added, and other pages are given appropriate consideration as well. The Town's Business Directory is an interactive management system handled by Town staff, so as soon as a business has a license, it goes up on the site so everyone can see; a great promotional bonus for new businesses. Basically, Bowden's website tells visitors pretty much everything they need to know about the town; events, facilities, bylaws. It's exactly what they need.
Exchanging links with websites related to your own is by far the most cost effective form of online advertising. After all, it's absolutely free!

Owner, Scott Wearmouth, was right to think it was time for a revamp, so we're working on adding some new features, including working on the steps towards an online shopping cart. This means putting together an inventory of probably 10,000 items! Watch for this redesign in the next few weeks.
