The Mountain View Film Group is a non-profit organization and a member of the Toronto Film Group. The Film Group shows movies once a month that may not be part of the regular circult in Olds. Any profits from showings are used to support local initiatives. The Film Group is associated with the fundraising committee of the Olds Historical Society. Historical Society members receive discounts on tickets. Any member of the public is welcome to attend Film Group meetings and help select movies to be shown. The campground is owned by the Town of Olds, and leased to and operated by the Olds Lions Club. NEW for 2009 - we now take RESERVATIONS. Call 403-556-2299. Reservations for the 2009 camping season will be taken AFTER 1 May 2009. No reservations will be taken for the 2009 season until 1 May 2009. Located close to downtown Olds, the campground is fenced for security and offers 46 serviced sites, each with electricity and water. Showers, washrooms and a sewer dumping station are located in the campground. Weather permitting, O.R. Hedges Campground is generally open from May through to September. Payment is collected and monitored by the on-site Manager. Stock trailers are not allowed anywhere within the campground. Fees, per site, per night (subject to change) - Power & Water $28.00 - No Services, or Overflow Camping $19.00 - Tenting (No Services) – this rate is available only if tent is not located on a serviced site $15.00

The society holds an annual Festival to promote musical and speech art talents of young people in Olds and district. This celebration of the performing arts focuses on teaching and learning, and includes entries in piano, band and instrumentals, voice and choir, musical theatre, speech arts and choral speech, strings, and creative music. Over the past 25 years, the cost of operating the Festival has increased, with a current budget in excess of $35,000. Facility hours and programs change throughout the year and are subject to change without notice. Current schedules are available at the Aquatic Centre, at Town Office, and from the Town of Olds website. Owned and operated by the Town of Olds, the Olds Aquatic Centre officially opened to the public in November 2002, and features a 25-metre lane pool, a waterslide, a tot pool with beach-type entry, a whirlpool and multi-purpose room. The facility is wheelchair accessible. The Aquatic Centre offers a wide range of swim programs, lessons and activities, including special swims and activities during school breaks, lifesaving and leadership courses, and scuba courses.

This 18-hole course features a 5-hole Par 3 course, a driving range, practice green, elevated tee-boxes, sand and water hazards, and well-groomed grass greens to challenge the beginner and experienced golfer. This mixed community choir (approx. ages 16 and up) rehearses and performs choral music of many styles and periods. Olds Fashioned Christmas is a series of community, cultural and recreational events that take place in Olds during November and December. A volunteer Coordinating Team plans year-round to coordinate 300 volunteers and 11 associations who work together. Team members are appointed by the Town of Olds. The Olds Grizzlys are a community-owned Junior A hockey club in the Alberta Junior Hockey League, which is a development league for university and college young men aged 16 to 20 playing a 60-game season, with 30 games at home and 30 on the road, plus playoffs. Practices are held at the Olds Sportsplex daily. The Club has 67 Lifetime Members and over 100 volunteers. The Olds Grizzlys are in their 29th year of operation. Fans are invited to Home Games held weekdays with 7.30 pm game starts, and almost every weekend, with games at 7.30 pm. The regular season runs from September to February, with playoffs following. Visit our website for news, statistics and game schedules. Home games are also broadcast on the local radio station, 96.5 CK-FM. The Grizzlys won the National Centennial Cup Championship in 1994 when Olds hosted the event.

The Sportsplex is owned and operated by the Town of Olds. The main ice surface (200’ X 85’) is used from approximately May 1st to August 10th, for non-ice functions (dances, shows, banquets, graduation, etc.), and from mid-August to April for ice rentals. The auxiliary ice surface (180’ X 85’) is used from April 1st to October 15th for non-ice functions, and from approx. 1 October to March 31st for ice rentals. The upstairs Concourse is also available for rentals, dances, shows, meetings and other functions. Book all these facilities through the Town of Olds Sportsplex Staff.
