The purpose of the association is to supply facilities for all types of target shooting, to ensure safe handling of firearms and to encourage sport shooting. The outdoor range is available year-round for pistol, small-bore and full-bore target practice. Membership is open to anyone over 16 years of age. There are approximately 850 members. Mountain View Summer Games Legacy Foundation

The Foundation serves to distribute interest earned from the 1983 Alberta Summer Games Legacy. Grants are offered primarily to: Athletes or artists who require assistance toward elite performance where coaching, instruction or training beyond what is available in the community is needed. Emphasis is on the attainment of a level of performance or skill well beyond the usual recreational or development levels. Students pursuing a course of study in a field related to sport, recreation or culture. Bursaries are dispersed in June. Coaches or instructors who are residents in Mountain View County and who have volunteered their time and expertise toward the benefits of others. These grants are to assist the leader to develop knowledge and skill. Sport and cultural organizations that are involved in exceptional and innovative programs. The Foundation directors meet in September each year to consider applications. Application forms are available at Town Offices in Mountain View County, from the County Office, at Olds College, or from any Director. Applications may be submitted at any time.

The Olds Boxing Club is open to all male and female participants, ages 10 and up, who want to compete or for exercise and fun. We will focus on physical fitness and technical skills. We hope to reach out to those in the community wanting to achieve confidence by developing themselves physically and mentally. TUESDAYS, THURSDAYS AND SUNDAYS at 6:30 to 8:00pm or 7:30 to 9:30pm. The club consists of Women’s, Men’s, Mixed, Family, Senior, Junior, and School Leagues (Olds Elementary, Deer Meadow, Olds Jr/Sr High and Koinonia schools). There are 6 to 8 bonspiels a year. A new executive is elected every April and general club membership meetings are called in Spring and Fall. League play runs from November to March. The Olds Figure Skating Club (OFSC) is a non-profit amateur athletic association affiliated with Skate Canada. We offer Pre-CanSkate, CanSkate, CanSkate Plus, Modified StarSkate, and StarSkate. The club executive is made up of parent volunteers and gracious community members, working towards the common goal of providing a healthy, positive activity for the youth in our community. The purpose of our club is to encourage the instruction, practice, enjoyment and advancement of its members in all aspects of skating and thereby to promote physical fitness and encourage lifelong participation in skating. We endeavour to do the best job we can to make participation in the skating programs enjoyable, challenging, and successful. Every effort is made to keep our members informed by means of monthly newsletters, bulletin board displays, general meetings etc. Together, we can make skating a positive experience for your child.

Olds Lacrosse is a non-profit association promoting fun and team spirit recreation to all our members in our community and surrounding areas. Teams range from Tykes (5 years) to Juniors (16-21 years). The season begins in March and continues to the end of June, with opportunities to try out for provincial summer games as well as competitive exhibition games and tournaments.

The Olds Minor Hockey Association endeavours to promote and organize Minor Hockey in the community. Teams range from Tykes (5 years) to Midgets (17 years). Girls Hockey also plays an important part in the Association with teams at four different levels. The hockey season begins in September with tryouts and ends in March with the playoffs. Approximately 300 players register each year and are involved in league play, exhibition games and tournaments.

Join the Olds Rapids Swim Club and become a member of one of Canada’s largest and most organized sports. The Club’s objective is to provide a healthy, competitive environment in which all club members have the opportunity to train and compete at levels that match their abilities. We strive to focus attention and effort on the growth and development of each individual and to develop, within each swimmer, a positive self-concept through a program based on self-improvement. Tai Chi is a moving art form which simultaneously provides a health exercise and a meditation. Classes at beginner and inermediate levels are offered as well as the Tao Chi saber set.
