Guiding is a modern tradition that honours the magic of being a girl and becoming the best that you can be. Guiding provides program opportunities that are centred on fun, friendship and adventure. Girls learn about sharing and co-operation, and acquire skills that will last a lifetime. The aim of Girl Guides of Canada is to help girls and young women become responsible citizens, able to give leadership and service to the community. Volunteer leaders share their love of fun and adventure, with crafts, games and songs, camping and outdoor activities, and help girls explore the world around them, including international travel opportunities. They experience the joy of contributing to the lives and futures of girls of all ages. Girl Guides of Canada is part of a worldwide movement of 10 million members in 144 countries, the largest organization for girls and women in the world.
